North American TB-25N Mitchell 'Sarinah' - North Weald Airfield 25/08/16
North American TB-25N Mitchell (PH-XXV / 232511 / N5-149), 'Sarinah', Duke of Brabant Air Force. (Royal Netherlands Air Force Historical Flight Foundation), Gilze-Rijen Air Base, The Netherlands.
On the 25th of August 2016 I visited North Weald Airfield. I'd gone with the intention of photographing the Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron's two Vampires & Mig-15 which were basing themselves at North Weald for the latter part of the UK Airshow season. On arrival at the airfield I was informed by Airfield Ops that the Dutch North American TB-25N Mitchell, 232511, 'Sarinah' was due in at midday. What a result!
The aircraft was to spend that afternoon & the following day at North Weald as it was using the airfield as a base for its displays at the Clacton Airshow. The 26th of August would see the aircraft depart to Dunsfold Aerodrome as it would be displaying there that weekend.
As an added bonus TB-25N Mitchell 'Sarinah' was wearing special RAF markings which represent the Dutch 320 Squadron who flew the aircraft during WWII for the upcoming reunion at its former base of RAF Dunsfold.
