Northrop Grumman B-2A Spirit - RIAT 2012
The United States Air Force sent a Northrop Grumman B-2A Spirit to RIAT 2012.
The aircraft, which was undoubtedly the star of the show, was to appear in the static park only.
The B-2A Spirit, which was appearing for the first time at any European airshow since 2004,
was 82-1068 "Spirit of New York", which, until recently, was serving with the 412th Test Wing at Edwards AFB,
it was now serving with the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman AFB.
The aircraft arrived as "Death 11" in heavy rain on Friday evening after a 10 hour direct flight from Whiteman AFB.
One of the two crew was an RAF exchange pilot!
I caught the aircraft departing on the Monday in some pretty cloudy conditions, it was
an awesome sight none the less. It definitely has a sinister look about it.
