RAF Coningsby "Fightertown" on the 6th and 7th May 2010
Page 3 of 3
I hadn't been to RAF Coningsby for a year and I was getting withdrawal symptoms.
A couple of cheap Travelodge rooms meant I could spend a couple of days at the UK's most
active RAF Airbase. As was also the case during my 2 previous visits in 2006 and 2009, there was
plenty of flying and plenty of variety.
This section contains around 250 images taken over the 2 days including RAF Coningsby based
Eurofighter Typhoons and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane
and De Havilland Chipmunk, 3 Beech B200 Kingairs and Tornado GR4 from RAF Marham, a couple
of Harrier GR9's and there was also a couple of fly-throughs by 2 RAF Lakenheath based F-15C Eagles.
I was also fortunate to see the display Eurofighter Typhoon and BBMF Supermarine Spitfire flying in
formation and practicing for the 2010 airshow season.
Every time I visit RAF Coningsby I have a great time, and thankfully this year, after some
dodgy weather forecasts the weather turned out to be excellent :
