The Kings' Birthday Flypast

Saturday 14th June 2025

On the 14th of June 2025 a flypast was held to celebrate the Kings' birthday, taking part were 29 aircraft,

which flew, in formation, down The Mall & over Buckingham Palace.

The flypast contained aircraft from the Royal Air Force, led by 4 x Boeing Chinooks from RAF Odiham, followed by Avro Lancaster B.1, PA474 from the

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight based at RAF Coningsby. This would be followed by several waves of aircraft

with the Red Arrows bringing up the rear.

Unfortunately, I didn't see the Chinooks & I only caught the Lancaster in the distance, I did however see the rest of the formation.

The weather, was pretty much perfect, certainly a major improvement on the King's Birthday Flypast of 2024

which had awful heavy rain & low grey skies, but at least it did go ahead.

Just before 1PM the first of the formation reached my position, it was Avro Lancaster PA474, followed a couple

of minutes later by the rest of the formation.
