North Weald Airfield 25/09/14

On the 25th of September 2014 I decided to visit North Weald Airfield again, the weather was

good and I was hoping there might be something of interest to photograph during my visit.

Things didn't look too promising when I arrived, as the pan was chokka with aircraft. It

looked like nothing would be moving all day apart from the North Weald based

light aircraft. Then in the distance I saw this beastie flying towards the airfield,

a Westland AH.1 Longbow Apache from RAF Wattisham, the aircraft

proceeded to play on the runway for a while & did 3 circuits before heading

off into the distance. The Pilot gave me a wing waggle on departure too, thank you sir!

What a result & saved my day too!

I don't know what it is about the Apache helicopter, it's definitely got something :-)
