The second of two Nightshoots held at RAF Northolt in 2023 & once again organised
by Phil Dawe. This was number 29 in the series.
RAF Northolt Nightshoot XXIX had a new layout in the shape of a horseshoe, there certainly appeared to be more room for the photographers present,
& this lent itself to having some different angles available as compared to previous Nightshoots. Apparently, the floodlights used for this event were using new LED's which
certainly helped when photographing the two visiting Westland AH.1 Apaches.
Pleasingly, there were no cancellations from the advertised list of participants with visiting aircraft
coming from the Italian Air Force, French Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Army Air Corps together with the two RAF Northolt based London Air Ambulances,
& a final appearence by the RAF Northolt based Agusta-Westland AW109SP GrandNew, GZ100. Also present was Hawker Hurricane R4118 G-HUPW UP-W from Hurricane Heritage
& a privately owned Cessna L-19A Bird Dog, 51-4781 (G-VNAM). Also making a very welcome appearence was Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4, ZK375/375, from 3 Squadron based at RAF Coningsby.
The Italian Air Force brought a Piaggio P.180 Avanti II from 71 Gruppo, 14 Stormo, Practica de Mare, coded MM62287/606,
the French Air Force (Armee De L'Air) participants consisted of a pair of Pilatus PC-21's, 709FJ/08 & 709FP/14, from Base Aérienne 709-Cognac/Châteaubernard.
From The Royal Canadian Air Force a Lockheed Martin CC-130J Super Hercules, 130606 of 436 Squadron, Trenton, Ontario, which is currently based in Scotland.
From 656 Squadron, Army Air Corps, RAF Wattisham, a pair of Westland AH.1 Apaches, ZJ189 & ZJ210 & the two RAF Northolt based McDonnell Douglas MD-900 Explorer
London Air Ambulances present were G-EHMS & G-LNDN.
