RAF Northolt Nightshoot XIX held on the 8th October 2015
Once again organised by Phil Dawe, this Nightshoot, was number 19 in the series.
These very popular nightshoots are held to raise money for the restoration of the RAF Northolt Battle of Britain Operations Room.
RAF Northolt Nightshoot XIX attracted an eclectic mix of visitors. The highlight of the event though had to be the
RAF Odiham based 18(B) Squadron's Centenary Chinook HC.4, ZA712, which came in for a gas-and-go.
This aircraft carries a fabulous special scheme commemorating the squadron's 100 year anniversary.
Other visitors included a Raspberry Ripple schemed BAe Hawk T.1, XX342, operated by QinetiQ/Empire Test Pilots School & based at Boscombe Down,
the attendance of this rarely seen aircraft was also a definite highlight.
A very rare participant taking part under the floodlights was the Helio Courier U-10, EO AF66-14374 in USAF SEA Camouflage. This aircraft is
actually G-BAGT which is based at Spanhoe.
Belgian Air Force Embraer ERJ-145LR serial 145526 with registration CE-03 (ex PT-STR) was also under the lights, the aircraft,
which is Operated by 21 Squadron, 15 Wing, is based at Brussels/Melsbroek airport. The French Air Force sent a
Dassault Falcon 2000LX 231/F-RAFC operated by L'Escadron de Transport 60 (ET 60) & based at Villacoublay AFB & from
The Gazelle Squadron based in the UK, Westland Gazelle HT.3 ZB627/G-CBSK, the airframe still retains its 2 FTS markings.
32 Squadron, RAF Northolt based BAe 146 C.3, ZE708, was in one of the hangars but still available for photography & the London Air Ambulance
MD-902 Explorer, G-EHMS made a brief appearence before being hangared mid event.
